In Numbers How the Senghor University Project Supports Egypt’s Economy and Clean Energy
The solar water heating system at Senghor University represents a practical model for the use of renewable energy in large educational facilities with 100 high-efficiency solar heaters operating to serve the entire university residential campus
The system contributes to producing clean thermal energy equivalent to saving more than 475,000 kWh annually helping reduce pressure on the national electricity grid especially during peak demand periods
The project also helps reduce electricity consumption by an amount equivalent to the annual usage of dozens of residential units while achieving economic savings exceeding EGP 950,000 every year
Its impact is not limited to the economic side only but also extends to environmental value by reducing carbon emissions by more than 214 tons of CO₂ annually supporting Egypt’s plan to expand new and renewable energy projects and reduce reliance on conventional fuels used in electricity generation
